Artwork Guidelines

If you have arrived our Artwork Guidelines, it is probably because you have doubts about your files prepared for garment printing. Do not worry about anything! You can get in touch with our printing experts or keep reading to solve all your doubts. In this page, you will find all the necessary information to make your final files and a guide of guidelines and sizes of garment printing and merchandising, including all our printing techniques available. Do not worry about anything! You’re in good hands.

IMPRINT DIMENSIONS

The following sizes are approximate and may not correspond to your project. If you purchase your screen printing service or merchandising with us one of our printing experts will give you the necessary information in each case.

  • Screen Printing: Maximum size 14 x 16 inch. If the printing size has to be made larger, it can be consulted.
  • Heatpress / Vinyl  – Standard sizes: 4×4 / 3×10 / 12x12inch
  • DTG – Standard sizes: 4x14"/ 10x10cm / 14x16inch
  •

For small print areas all the customization techniques (screen printing, transfer, and DTG) are available.

The quality of the final result largely depends on the quality of the original image that is delivered. That is why we recommend that you provide us the designs in the appropriate formats ready to print in vector (.ai or .eps) or high-resolution files (.tiff or pdf), at least 300 dpi and 100% of the required print size. Images downloaded from the Internet are not generally adequate (and may be subject to copyright), so please try not to use them. A perfect design is larger than 13  (width) x 17 cm (height) and more than 300 dpi or a vector file. Designs for black or colored clothing must have a transparent background. Designs for white clothes should have a transparent or white background.

How to prepare vector files for screen printing

Vector Illustrator format is required for most types of printing. Adobe Illustrator is the preferred program, please save as .ai (Illustrator), vector .pdf or .eps.

Make sure that the placed images have a resolution of 300 dpi and the size of the image must be at least 100% of the desired print size. It is better to trace the sources. But if you do not know how to do it, you can send them attached to your document.

DTG printing artwork guidlines

If you want to print a photo, these are the suporrted formats: .psd (photoshop), .pdf and .jpg.

  • The resolution of the image should be 300 dpi.
  • Size of the image must be at least 100% of the required print size.
  • Keep in mind that a resolution or size smaller than these can pixelate the image.
  • Save as CMYK (note: this will increase the size of the file and may slightly vary the colors).
  • Tell us the dimensions of the design, if you know them.

Images downloaded from websites in general, are not suitable for printing since the quality is very low and printing is likely to look pixelated. In addition, you must always take into account the copyright of each image and if it allows the printing of your work. Always try to obtain the original logo or image file in the formats mentioned above. If you use Google Images, select large or very large images and find out about the copyright of each one.

Using fonts in custom printing process

If you have used text, convert all the text to contours by selecting “Object” – “Create contours” in Adobe Illustrator or transform to contour vector in the program you are using. This is very important since it will allow us to see your files as you have designed them, instead of our program converting its sources into any of the ones we have installed. If you can not convert the text to contours then make sure you supply the fonts so that the file is perfect.

ACCEPTED FILE FORMATS

Adobe Illustrator (.ai, .eps):

  • Convert all the text to ‘contours’
  • Outlines all the strokes

Adobe Photoshop (.psd, .tif, .eps)

  • The resolution should be 300 dpi
  • Save as CMYK

Acrobat (PDF)

  • Export image to 300dpi
  • Embed all fonts and images when you export
